Mike Allison & Justin Edwards

March 9th, 2013

Coming to you LIVE from Albany, NY for the America East Conference Tournament! This is the biggest game of the year for us, and it's Win or Go Home time.

Had the America East Conference awards reception last night with all of the league's players and coaches. Three of our players were recognized with Justin Edwards and Ali Fraser selected as 2nd Team All-Conference and Mike Allison selected All-Defensive team. Proud of our guys as they are definitely very talented and deserve to be honored among the best in our league. We also had guys awarded All-Conference honors by and

No doubt individual awards are a great tribute to our guys' hard-work and talent, but at the end of the day it's about team, and it's about winning a Conference Championship which is what we're here for this weekend.

Today at 8pm we take on Albany in the America East Quarter-finals in the #4 vs #5 game. We split the Regular Season with them 1-1 with the last game being a big Win on our home floor 66-52. Obviously there's an advantage for them playing on their home floor, and they are a very solid team, but we feel good about how we match-up with them and we're confident going in. Our next game would then be vs the winner of #1 Stony Brook or #8 Binghamton tomorrow at 7pm. You can get all the info on the America East Tournament here.

This is a team that has the talent and potential to beat any team in the league...time to prove it this weekend! This is the best time of the year, and there's nothing better than cutting down the nets after winning a championship...step 1 is today! GO BLACK BEARS!

Super hectic month last month so didn't get to stay on top of the Blog like I'd like to. Since the last entry we beat Binghamton on the road 64-60 and dropped games vs Vermont and Stony Brook who will be the top 2 seeds for the America East Tourney. The game vs Stony Brook was also Senior Day for us where we got to honor Mike Allison, Jon McAllian and our Video Coordinator Bryan Roche.

There was an event on Tuesday that I definitely need to touch event a lot of people would call a miracle. Our Women's Basketball program was involved in a bus accident that could have been tragic. There were some injuries and they were shaken up, but an accident like this could have been much worse. To see them all back on campus on Wednesday was definitely a blessing, and I know that everyone on campus and across the country are extremely thankful for their safety.

Yesterday on a much different note we all shook it off and had a ball doing it in a project that was coordinated between our staff and the Women's staff...the Harlem Shake! Posted the video below, and if you're really diggin' it, check out the "Outakes" here! (Update: Our Harlem Shake was viewed over 1,200 times in the first 24hrs up on You Tube!)

Next up, the final regular season game against longstanding rival New Hampshire on Sunday at 5pm. Big game for us as it would build momentum going into the Tournament and get us back on track. We all definitely have a lot to be thankful, let's celebrate life and live it to the fullest...GO BLACK BEARS! - NCB
